I wrote this educator’s guide to support the classroom use of Dad, I Miss You by Nadia Sammurtok for students ages 9–11. The resource includes pre-reading activities, discussion prompts, and lesson ideas designed to help students engage with the story’s themes while building social-emotional awareness. I focused on making the content age-appropriate and practical for classroom use. The guide also provides historical context on the residential school system in Canada and supports educators in approaching the topic with care and sensitivity.
